Issac’s Day care at Tadika Brainchild 2009

Issac’s second half of year 2009 day care, Daddy had decided to give him a new environment, Tadika Brainchild. It was actually the decision both made after the Teachers Parents Meeting.

Ever since that, after Issac had spent one week at school, he love the school. We can really feel and see that he is evolving…Really feel glad…Then we knew, we made a right move, for good and betterment…

At school, Issac started to mix around the new routine – bath, lunch, homework, revision and of course play. At least, he is more discipline than before. And, here is your day care photos in school at your 4 years old.

Mydin Hypermarket USJ 4 Apr 2009

Mydin Hypermarket USJ is one of the place that we always like to go most of the time. Reason being: it is near, it is a hypermarket which we can shop for our groceries or things that we want to buy, it have a children playground, it have a food court too, and some retail shops, quite a place to hang out for the family, like us i mean.

Both the kids love the children playground very much, sometimes it is quite difficult to ask them leave when it is going back home time…^^

Kuala Lumpur Bird Park 25 Oct 2009

Initially we were planning to go Deer Park which located in the Taman Tasik Perdana, due to Daddy have to work (closing tender) for the following weekends and would not be coming back to spend the weekend together, thus Daddy suggested we should go to the Bird Park this weekend. Another reason beings is he wanted to polish his photography skills.

We waked up early on the Sunday morning, after bathing two children and having breakfast at Asia Cafe, then we headed to our destination. The fees is RM15.00 for adults and RM6.00 for children above 3 years old.

The Free-Flight Walk-In Aviary

It is really hard to believe we have a reputed to be one of the largest in the world, this free-flight walk-in aviary, comprising of Zone 1 and Zone 2 of the park, is the home to more than 60 species of local and foreign birds, flying freely and living together in harmony and balance, creating a unique ecosystem of its own in this semi-natural environment. Once we came to the Main Entrance, we came to the Love Aviary full of colourful and adorable lovebirds.

We are really amazed by the courtship display of the Indian Blue Peacock with its magnificent, colourful, 5-feet train. Also, get a glimpse of the Crowned pigeon, the largest pigeon species in the world having the body size of a turkey. They are everywhere… Only today that I realised that that is called Pigeon!

Brahminy Land

Located in Zone 1, the Brahminy Land exhibits our collection of Brahminy Kites, one of the popular local bird of prey species in Malaysia. These magnificent birds give out sorrowful, mewing calls especially during late evenings. Brahminy Kite forage both over water and land, feeding on small preys such as fish, rodents and even insects.

Flamingo Pond

Also situated in Zone 1 of KL Bird Park, catch a glimpse of our Greater and Lesser Flamingos gracefully sun-bathing in a beautifully landscaped pond complete with a scenic man-made waterfall. One of the special features of these gregarious wading birds originated from Africa is their ability to stand on one leg, and the characteristic pink colouration of their feathers is caused by their beta carotene-rich diet obtained from the pond they are living in.

At this Flamingo Pond, there were other pelican birds, another splendid yet curious bird species with its enormous bill and awkward heavy walk. This pond is also a favourite spot for other wading birds inhabiting the free-flight aviary especially early in the morning.

Hornbill Park

The magnificently landscaped Hornbill Park depicts the true tropical rainforest of Malaysia, with its verdant, lush, evergreen trees, some soaring up to the height of a 10 storey building. This is the home to our majestic pair of Rhinoceros Hornbill, one of the largest hornbill species in the world. Its shiny ebony black plumage, huge bill and upward-curved casque in the shade of vibrant red, orange and yellow forms a beautiful contrast to its surrounding and definitely a remarkable sight to be relished. This pair is joined by a smaller hornbill species, the Oriental Pied Hornbill; the melodious Hill Mynas; and small doves; while on the ground you can find the adorable Poland Chicken and Pearl Guineafowls; all inhabiting the same closed area forming a perfectly balanced community.

The Feather Friends Photo Booth

We had taking a small momento back with us as a remembrance of our visit here. A beautiful photo, up-close-and-personal with the tame and trained birds will definitely be the perfect souvenir. There are various of birds; from Tango, the beautiful Scarlet Macaw; Samad, the playful Wreathed Hornbill; Kitty the adorable Malay-Eagle Owl or even Ella the mysterious Chestnut-bellied Hawk Eagle. With a small fee of RM25.00, we had our photo with specially made photo frames using the KL Bird Park instant photo service. The guy is kind enough to help us snap a few using Daddy new Canon 500D digital camera!

The World of Parrots

This walk-in mini aviary is specially designed to accommodate 20 species of parrots that in collection consisting of macaws, cockatoos, lories and parakeets. Some of the parrots are placed in individual exhibits in pairs as part of our breeding programmes while others have the freedom of flying freely inside the aviary giving the possibility to the visitors to get closer to these beautiful birds.

We had the chance to get a closer look on some of the rare and even critically endangered parrot species such as the Pesquet's Parrot which is also popularly known as the Vulturine Parrot and can only be found in Papua New Guinea; Moluccan Cockatoo which is endemic to the Seram Island in Indonesia and now critically endangered due to illegal trapping and habitat destruction; and the adorable Congo African Grey Parrots which are widely known to be the most intelligent parrot species.

Issac had took part in Lories Feeding at 12.00pm daily happening here at the World of Parrot.

Flightless Birds

Some of the largest bird species that roams the earth - and here are all 4 of them here in KL Bird Park! Flightless birds which are mostly enormous in size and have adapted well to the life on the ground that they have lost their abilities to fly. Instead, ostrich for example, is known to be one of the fastest moving creature on earth, due to its powerful long legs.

Ostrich, Struthio camelus, is the largest living bird species in the world. It can reach the height of between 1.8 meters to 2.7 meters with body weight of 90 to 155kg. Large, strong legs with two toes enable it to walk about with easy strides and to run fast, with a top speed of 64km/h. Ostrich can be found in various parts of Africa where it prefer open areas such as deserts and grasslands. It feeds mainly on leaves, seeds and even insects. Ostrich eggs are the largest of all eggs and weigh about 1.3kg. The content of one ostrich egg is equivalent to two dozen chicken eggs.

Bird Gallery & Education Center, Egg Incubation Room & Nursery

There is a new facility here that chicken eggs are artificially incubated using incubators, we have the chance to see and touch with our own hands to feel the adorable chickens and ducklings. Issac even had a chance to hold the chicken littles.

Oriental Bird Aviary

One of the exhibits housed is pair of Greater Bird of Paradise, Paradisaea apoda, having a widely-spread legend saying that this magnificent bird is a messenger from heaven, having no legs and possessing certain mystical powers which can bring good fortune to its keeper. Adding to the collection is the Violet and Green Turaco from Africa, and 3 species of toucans, namely the Toco Toucan, Channel-billed Toucan and Red-billed Toucan which are regarded as the New World 'hornbill' species. These beautiful birds have a characteristic black plumage and bright, vibrantly coloured facial features.

Waterfall Aviary

Experience a relaxing stroll along the paths in another one of our scenic mini aviary, the Waterfall Aviary, located in Zone 4 of KL Bird Park. A picturesque set up of lush green trees and a 30-feet tall man-made waterfall, this mini aviary is also the sanctuary of our Milky Storks, one of the vulnerable and highly protected bird species in Malaysia.

The Amphitheater and Playground

It is located in Zone 4 of the park. The KL Bird Park Bird Show happening at this semi-open air amphitheater at 12.30pm and 3.30pm daily. The Amphitheater has a 350 seating capacity and the daily Bird Show is free-of-charge with a first-come-first-serve seating arrangements. We did not have a chance to see the bird show as we are rushing back. But, the children did play at the children’s playground.

It is really a different experiences for the children, as both were visiting Zoo previously and now is a different feathered friends.

Very Upset…

I am really upset as today Mummy’s laptop brought back from the computer shop, all the documents in the computer had gone and the technician did not back up it. It is including Mummy Journal, Annabelle Journal and Issac Journal as well. And, a lot of photos that I had taken during they were small, from birth till now.

I am so angry because I had told Daddy that the technician guy have to backup all the documents inside. Other than that, my Prudential SQS software too, that is how I do the quotation or proposals for prospects for my part time biz. Sometimes, I really think that Daddy did not respect Mummy at all. He never take my words seriously.

Mummy got a feeling like my life had been deleted. What a awful feeling…

Daddy was upset too, probably he did not know that Mummy had so many documents in the computer and Mummy mean it when mummy said so. He was angry too and mentioned that he should not brought the laptop go and serviced, and all his faults being so ‘troublesome’ and ‘trying to be helpful’. Hmmm…wordless…

At that particular moment, I felt so glad that I had just started my Blog last 2 months. There are some photos that I had stored in the skydrive because I write blog. Thank God! And, when I think about that, I would not feel so bad.

Your Journal

Writing thoughts and feelings down in a special book that only you read is called journalizing. It is amazing what pearls of insight can be gained by this simple reflection. Buy a blank book today and begin writing. When you look back every few months, growth will be obvious! Write everything you think, fear, dream, or wonder. If you need to make a decision, write about it – your own advice will surprise you.

SUA Chinese New Year Lucky Draw Cum January Birthday Celebration 2009

It was sort of traditions that every interior designs & contractors firms will be receiving a lot of hampers prior the Chinese New Year holidays.

Our company received a lot this year due to the Eon Bank Group projects. Every single one of the staffs managed to get a hamper to bring back home. The only different would be the lucky draw event, see which of the hamper that you will bring back, everyone got a chance for their pick. Some of the colleagues have to tele-conferencing when we drew their pick on their behalf, as some of them were at job site and outstations on the ongoing projects.

Actually, there was another event too that, January birthday boys and girls celebration. But it seems likes only Noraini alone was cutting the cake.

It was a really fun event, as all of the staffs got their hampers before the holidays!

Issac’s Gym Class

The first thing which attracted Mummy’s eyes was Brainchild have an individual Gym Room and a small little Swimming Pool. Because it is seldom that a Kindergarten had their own infrastructure like a proper school, besides that had children playground, own classrooms, etc.

Brainchild’s Gym Room have a wall full of mirror and floor is parquet, so the children if fall down would not be so pain. There are some colourful rubber cushions too. Issac enjoyed the facilities very much. I guess it is because due to all these facilities that attracts him, before that at Fernie’s place not much space to run about I guess.

So now, if Mummy asks Issac: “Issac likes your school? You still want to go back to Auntie Fernie there or not?” He will right away answer me that, “I like school very much, I don’t want go back to Auntie Fernie there again. Can see it clearly in his eyes that he is very happy what he is having and enjoying his current school life now.

Issac’s Play Corner at Brainchild

Tadika Brainchild did snap some photos on the children during at the school time. The photos is the earlier of the year when Issac was at school. The play corner is located in front of the school. Every morning, when Mummy sending you to the school, there will be 2 rows of tables and bench, full of toys on the table, waiting for all the children before they have their morning assembly.

All sorts of toys in various of shapes and forms. There are wide and bright arrays of colours and textures: geometric forms, puzzles, maps, beads, rods, blocks, cubes, to amplify exploration. The child learns to solve problems independently, build self-confidence, analytical thinking, and gain satisfaction that comes from accomplishment. Materials are self-correcting. When something is not right, the child easily perceives the error. As exploration continues, materials interrelate and build upon each other, various relationships explored.

It is part of the Montessori education. It is a scientific way of being to support true natural development in children. Allowing them to freely interact with various self-teaching materials, discovered the child’s true nature, having such normal qualities as spntaneious self-discipline, love of order, and perfect harmony with the environment.

All these terms is new for Mummy, but Daddy and Mummy know it is the best for you. You will grow…

Did I Marry the Right Person?

Those who are still single may learn something from here.
Those who are already married may take it as a guideline to improve your marriage...

During one of our seminars, a woman asked a common question. She said, "How do I know if I married the right person?"
I noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so I said, "It depends. Is that your husband?" In all seriousness, she answered "How do you know?"

Here's the answer.

EVERY relationship has a cycle. In the beginning, you fell in love with your spouse. You anticipated their call, wanted their touch, and liked their idiosyncrasies.   Falling in love with your spouse wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience. You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called "falling" in love... Because it's happening TO YOU.

People in love sometimes say, "I was swept of my feet." Think about the imagery of that expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something came along and happened TO YOU.

Falling in love is easy. It's a passive and spontaneous experience.

But after a few years of marriage, the euphoria of love fades. It's the natural cycle of EVERY relationship. Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's idiosyncrasies, instead of being cute, could drive you nuts.

The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship, but if you think about your marriage, you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage.

At this point, you and/or your spouse might start asking, "Did I marry the right person?" And as you and your spouse reflect on the euphoria of the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else. This is when marriages breakdown. People blame their spouse for their unhappiness and look outside their marriage for fulfilment.

Extramarital fulfilment comes in all shapes and sizes. Infidelity is the most obvious. But sometimes people turn to work,a hobby, a friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances.

But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your marriage. It lies within it.
I'm not saying that you couldn't fall in love with someone else.   You could.

And TEMPORARILY you'd feel better. But you'd be in the same situation a few years later. Because (listen carefully to this):

DSC00501 THE KEY TO SUCCEEDING IN MARRIAGE IS NOT FINDING THE RIGHT PERSON; IT'S LEARNING TO LOVE THE PERSON YOU FOUND.

SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience.  It'll NEVER just happen to you. You can't "find" LASTING love. You have to "make" it day in and day out. That's why we have the expression "the labour of love." Because it takes time, effort, and energy. And most importantly, it takes WISDOM. You have to know WHAT TO DO to make your marriage work. Make no mistake about it. Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your spouse) to succeed with your marriage.

Just as there are physical laws of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships. Just as the right diet and exercise program makes you physically stronger, certain habits in your relationship WILL make your marriage stronger. It's a direct cause and effect. If you know and apply the laws, the results are predictable. .. you can "make" love. Love in marriage is indeed a "decision"... Not just a feeling.

Remember this always:
"God determines who walks into your life. It is up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let go."
So, spent your lifetime finding out the loveable things about your spouse so that you could LOVE your spouse everyday in every way in an EVERLASTING marriage.  That is why grandpa's love to your grandma seems so PURE.

Remember,  you are with the "RIGHT" person. If not, you wouldn't have wanted to marry your spouse in the first place.

No more questions!!!

Tadika Brainchild Parents Teachers Meeting 29 May 2009

Mummy still can remember this – the first ever Parents Teachers Meeting in my life. Our appointment with Teacher Joyce is at 9:15am. Every each of the parents were given 15 minutes for the short discussion. During Daddy and Mummy time, you were sitting beside us together with Teacher Joyce.

Mummy were so worried, as Mummy knew that you are not as a ‘good boy’ that every teacher or parent think of and talk about, because Mummy knew you, you are a very hyperactive boy. Probably not so quite in the class, a bit naughty. But, it do really came to surprise to us that Teacher Joyce told us that you are a good boy if somebody told you to.

Teacher did bring out matters like, mainly it is due to the childcare centre there, not really put enough attention to you, that made you up to this kind of character, crying loudly after doing wrong; like to disturb your friends in the class; draw all over your exercise book, and colour everywhere (This is the thing that Mummy does not know how to advise you not to do so too), etc.

Teacher Joyce did suggest that, if both Daddy and Mummy can consider to change the day care to Brainchild because the school do have a proper schedule and guidance on the children daily activities programme, in such a way to train them from the young age. She did mention that, Derrick and Amelia have the same problem like Issac too, as three of you are also from the same day care centre.

Daddy was the one, who had made a right decision to swift the day care to Brainchild. Ever since that you have spend one week at school, you love the school. We can really feel and see that you are evolving…Really feel glad…Then we knew, we made a right move, for good and betterment…

Tadika Brainchild Chinese New Year Party 6 Feb 2009

This is actually the first party or event that Issac joined after he had started his schooling days at Tadika Brainchild. Mummy actually was quite surprise too that the kindergarten will organise something like this. It was never happened in Mummy’s school days.

On that particular day, Mummy let you wear your newly bought Animal Planet T-Shirt, pants and jacket. So handsome!

All the teachers and your classmates too, wearing their new and favourite Chinese New Year dress for the party fun. Looking at Issac’s photos, knowing him that he was enjoying it, can I say that – his official first party!

Tadika Brainchild Mickey Mouse Clubhouse 11 Feb 2010

This is a quite surprise for me that Tadika Brainchild have this programme, because the communication book did not mention any event like this will take place in school. Mummy got a bit surprise that showed that Issac took a Mickey Mouse hat back to house. At that moment of time, I did not think of anything else, untill I saw the photos that taken by the school, then I suddenly recalled that particular day Issac did bring back ‘the hat’.

It should be fun that the children learn through the whole sessions…singing, dancing, playing, etc. Children learn the most and best through their play time ^^.

Issac Dismissal Time at Brainchild

Dismissal time would be the most happy time of all for Issac at the early half of the year 2009.

During the first half of the year, both Daddy and Mummy not yet enrol him to the day-care, just only the preschool for the morning time.

Thus, during the dismissal time of 3 & 4 years old children at 11.30am, all the children would sit on the bench waiting for parents or family to come and fetch them back.

Due to Mummy and Daddy are working, so Auntie Fernie’s maid would normally come and fetch Issac to the day-care corner house just opposite the school.

So, these photos was taken during the first half of 2009 at Tadika Brainchild.

Issac & Friends Tea Time Break at Brainchild

Early of the year, all the Tadika Brainchild children compulsory to have two bags, which one is the school bag and one is the tea-set bag or snack bag.

Parents have to write their own child’s name on all their belongings. All children are required to have their own individual tea set that includes a children spoon, a cup an a small plate for their snack for hygiene purpose.

So, Mummy bought a simple lunch box with "Tom & Jerry” in green colour for Issac to bring to school. Reason being: first, easy to take and put inside the snack bag. Second reason, easier for teachers to rinse the utensils and keep, wait till reach home, Mummy will wash again.

Normally, they will have some slight snack such as, breads, cakes, cereals with milk, fried noodle or fried meehon, of course and some drinks, Milo, etc.

3 & 4 years old tea break is at around 9.15am in the morning, they will slowly walk out from the class, guided by the class teacher to sit on the tables and chairs at the side of the school. Although it is new to him at first, but he enjoys the snack time with friends…

Our Frequent Out Going Park…

P1010969 Taman Tasik Perdana is our frequent going park among all. Even though it is near to city, but the environment is good, the biggest attractions to the children is have a big playground, and not only one but many. Complete with all the adult exercise equipments and tools. Well, can say maintain in a good condition.

Most of the Sunday, if we did not go anyway, we will going there just for a morning walk, then around 9.00am something or 10.00am will go down to town have our breakfast, then only drive back home. It is really feels good, after reach home. You will feel that you have completed a task, and most of the families just started going out for their Sunday brunch.

Things to consider when checking out parks includes:

  • Do you feel safe there?
  • Are there bathrooms?
  • Are there working water fountains?
  • Is the park kept clean?
  • Is there shade for sunny days?
  • What types of activities is that park used for?
  • Are pets allowed?
  • What is the play equipment like?

Tadika Brainchild 3&4 Years Reading Corner

The reading corner is part of the Tadika Brainchild morning circle time programme.

Circle time is when all the children sit in a circle, tell stories, share something, sing songs, and enjoy being a group. It is a good idea to have a planned circle time when coordinating many children, and the most suitable activities to do, i guess.

The children will ask to take their own chair and place it in a line, and choose their own story book from the book shelf, sit down and read their favourite book. Normally, 3 year and 4 year children would get to group together.

Issac is starting to learn all these endless activities!

Mid Autumn Festival Dinner

Sometimes it does not works as you planned…

Today is the mid autumn festival or moon cake festival. Brother Andrew’s family and us were having dinner together after Ying Ying tuition class. We had it at Jinjang. It is a street that full of seafood restaurant. Belle is wearing the new dress which daddy bought her. She looks older wearing her new dress.

The dinner is at 8:30 pm. We left our house earlier, about 6:00 pm because both children knew that we are going out. We arrived around 7:00 pm and have our tea at Mamak stall. We had waited in the car almost a hour. Issac was so tired and fall asleep in the car. Belle just climbed up and down at the car seats, as she had enough afternoon nap during Issac was practise at Chee Wen Primary School. Nothing to do, thus Mummy took out the camera and started to take Belle's photos. She was so 'clever', keep on posing in front of the camera.

This afternoon Mummy had sent him to Chee Wen Primary School for his concert rehearsal from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm. And, parents do not allow to stay back to watch the rehearsal as that will affect the children psychologically. Mummy just dropped Issac at the appointed side stage room for teachers to bring them in for pratice. Mummy and Daddy were to wait at the front assembly hall at the main entrance to pick him back. We couldn’t stand but just sneaked in the hall and look for him. The hall is equipped with air-conditioners. Much more better than Mummy thought.

Both were happy seeing and eating their dinner, but not for long, then both started to play with the ice cubes, plates, rice, almost anything just for fun! Anyway, dinner ended around 10:30 pm and we reached home after settled everything is around 12:00 midnight already. What a exhausted night…

Just Strolling Through...

It is a great time having babies strolling together… mummy did not really going out together with both of you when you are a baby, especially Issac.

There are few things that need to take note during the outing:
  • Take an extra diaper and wipes
  • Water
  • Blanket
  • A snack
  • Sun protection

However, mummy is doing it now, every Sunday, the best both Daddy and Mummy can do! Looking forward for this week again.

This picture was taken during we have our visit or morning walk to the Taman Tasik Perdana at Kuala Lumpur one of the recently Sunday. Issac walking together with Daddy down the passageway.

Hahaha...Father and Son...

Annabelle 2 Years Old! 1 Oct 2009

This is the first birthday that daddy and mummy celebrate with Belle with at least a birthday cake.

Last year, it was so happened that during Belle birthday was our Kuantan Trip with daddy’s friends. Thus, we did not celebrate it with cake and thoughtful party. Mummy felt so sad on that because during Belle’s full moon as well, we did not make a celebration party for her, then her first year old birthday too.

We had booked a birthday cake from Bee’s last week. A tuity fruity cake, miniature one. Mummy had took the cake last night earlier, but both of you slept earlier. Daddy came back late last night, brought back two transformer toys (from Uncle Ah Lun), and 3 pieces new cloths for Belle as her birthday presents.

We celebrate Belle’s day early in the morning. Blowing candles and eat the cake as our breakfast. Then, only send Issac to Tadika Brainchild and Belle to Fernie’s place.

She was so happy with her bowl and cake. She loves to eat, and eat a lot. Ever since after she started to learn hold her own folk and spoon, she does not like mummy spoon feed her already.

Getting older? She knows what she wants. Belle has a character totally different with her brother, Issac. Bad temper too…But, clever too. Mummy wish is to see her keep on growing and healthy.

A Day Out at Kuching Waterfront 8 Jun 2009

It was the same day that we visited Shang Ti Temple.

Actually, it was the day that four of us went to the cinema and watch a movie in Kuching. I can’t recall what movie is it already. It seems to be our ‘traditions’ already, watch a movie once a year and it will be at Kuching. Reason being, it is the only time that we have time together, relaxing watching and enjoying the movie; other reason, also not so much crowds because it will be always a working day and less infections for both babies. Normally, we will take a stroll at the waterfront before we go in to the cinema.

The Waterfront has of course undergone several transformations since the 19th century - from a small settlement with a few atop buildings, to a busy port with warehouses and wharves, to the landscaped riverside walk it is today. The Waterfront is now also home to modern sculpture, an open-air theatre and a musical fountain. The ferries and sampans park along the river.

In days gone by the river was the city's main highway. The river still retains its importance and picturesque charm in the modern era. Present day life is still concentrated on the waterfront. The new building which will caught your eyes will be the new Dewan Undangan Negeri which just completed last year.

From Kuching's humble, ancient origins, to its status as a modern city. No visit to Kuching would be complete without a stroll on the modern esplanade, or to sit, relax and experience a Sarawakian sunset.
