Issac Yu Ivan >> 2021, I Will… Our World Art Exhibition 2020

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and new norms, Jane Yap Atelier decided to make the biannual art exhibition virtual. Like a torch relay in the Olympic Games, the baton pass on one by one. But the baton here is the artbook. It will be named, "2021, I will …" - Our World Art Exhibition 2020.

Issac was the second student in this album no. 8. The title of the album is "If a fierce/friendly tiger is in front of me, I will …". He got the album on 10/10/2020 Saturday morning, as the previous student did it quite fast, here was the video and photo of the handing over of the album.

The parents of each participate student would have to help the Atelier to video the torch relay journey. There are specific camera settings of the video requirements which needed to meet. And for each of the videos or photos to record down includes receiving the album, starting drawing or while drawing, completing drawing the car journey to the next student, and handing over the album.

Here is how Issac opened up the album to check what he should be drawing.

Here is during Issac was drawing and coloring the tiger and himself in his artwork. Here is Issac's artwork.

There are some gentle reminders for the students to adhere to this relay. Some of these reminders are: the students need to sanitize their hands before drawing. Place cardboard behind the assigned page so that the marker ink does not get through to the next page.

Capture3

Do not vandalize other students completed artworks. Sanitize the front and back plastic cover of the album and the plastic Ziploc bag before handing it over to the next student; each student is required to complete the artwork within three days, etc.

Here is the video on handing over the album to the next student on 15/10/2021 Thursday night.

Here is the photo of handing it over to both siblings.

Overall, Issac feels satisfied with his artwork because this is the first time he can complete a painting within a few days. It is a fun experience for him as well.

It was early as we reached at Citta Mall. We went to Mc Donald’s for our breakfast before we went up to The Space Exhibition Hall. Outside the exhibition hall, there are arranged seating as there would be a fashion show for the boys and girls to showcase the Bibs and Bags. Ele Mun was one of the models. He was back from his studies at UK for a temporarily break.

IMG_5072

The students are required to dress in white theme. Boys would be in white shirts, Girls would be in white blouse or in white dress like previous years. After the opening ceremony and speeches, the exhibition started with the fashion show. Various design of Bibs and Handbags were shown.

IMG_5102

After the show, the exhibition hall was opened for the visitors to view the art displays. I took some pictures with Issac art piece. I am really stunned with his artwork. As a 13 years old boy, he came out the art piece for me is an adulthood mind.

IMG_5059

He drawn numbers of stairs leading to all directions. The stairs were mainly in black and white, primary colour of red, blue and yellow, and secondary colour of orange and purple. There is a high pillar in the left, a small door at end of a stairway and a window hanging on top of the painting.

IMG_5062

The teacher named his work as ‘Life’! Indeed suits his artwork! I am really impressed as this young boy I have can produce such a I can say an adulthood art piece. Well… I am proud of him too!

IMG_5066

Something to be mentioned is that there is a big piece of art on the floor which were jointly produced by all the students together with the teachers. And, a cute hand drawn luggage too!

Happiness in a Wonderland . Our World Art Exhibition 2016

Developing Talents #4 ~ Make an item from wood, metal, fabric, or other material, or draw, paint, or sculpt a piece of art. Display your finished work for others to see.

IMG_8631_thumb[8]After 2 years here we come again for another art exhibition for both Issac and Annabelle which I am eagerly waiting for.

This year theme is "Happiness in a Wonderland . Our World Art Exhibition 2016”. I can say it is a bit different from the past years but with the same intention.

This time around, besides the art pieces exhibition by the Jane Yap Atelier’s students, there will also be an auction of 20 pieces of artwork specially painted by teachers and students of Jane Yap Atelier.

IMG_8624_thumb[12]

IMG_8649_thumb[2]In addition. each painting will paired with an adorable and huggable Jelly Cat bunny sponsored by Happi Kiddo.

With the Citta Mall sponsored the exhibition venue itself and together with WeCare Journey.

In support of the cause and the exhibition, local notable figures such as Melinda Looi, Sonny San, Daphne Iking, Jaclyn Victor, Wong Chui Ling, Khairul Abidin, Izrin Iz, Melati Ibrahim, Nur Shazleen and Emely Poon have joined hands to dress up the soft toy bunnies.

IMG_8622_thumb[2]

There are assorted design of Jellycat Bunny which were designed, decorated and nicely dressed by the celebrities, artists and designers.

IMG_8625_thumb[1]It do really bring back the childhood memories of every girl that own a pretty nicely dress up dolls with our own creations!

The proceeds raised from the auction of these 20 pieces of artworks will be channelled to Malaysia Rare Disorder Society (MRDS) to support children suffering from spinal muscular atrophy.

The time of preparation took months before, every student whom participate is going to paint an art work on a canvas with the title of “Happiness in a Wonderland”, and contribute their talents to one of the 20 pieces of artworks jointly painted by the teachers together with students.

IMG_8657_thumb[2]

Besides that, the students were asked to bring their previous year 2015 artworks – the stool and the puppet for display too.

IMG_8629_thumb[4]We woke up early because the art exhibition is going to start at 10am, Teacher Jane asked the parents to bring the children as early as 9am.

This year is the first time ever Daddy attended together on the opening ceremony.

The students are required to dress in white theme. Boys would be in white shirts, Girls would be in white blouse or in white dress like previous years.

It was early as we reached at Citta Mall. We went to Mc Donald’s for our breakfast before we went up to The Space Exhibition Hall. The Space have relocated to 2nd Floor. There are a lot of people: parents, students, visitors, VIPs, medias, etc.

IMG_8655_thumb[13]

The students and all the teachers having a group photos after the opening ceremony. There were so many parents and children there. Really have difficulties in taking the group photo.

IMG_8635_thumb[11]We took some pictures with each Annabelle and Issac art piece.

I really do have a bit of surprise that both of their art pieces! Never think that both of them would have ok too!

Issac’s wonderland can be seen is a mixture of minecraft and the adventure land in the adventure time.

The Minecraft land is full of vibrant green with trees and forts with bricks style; the adventure land is in red and gold colour.

  IMG_8636_thumb[5]

The first time I saw it, I have an impression of the tree of life in the scripture in the 1 Nephi, whereby the river divided the spacious building and the straight and narrow path to the tree of life. May be too much scripture!

IMG_8637_thumb[9]Annabelle’s wonderland is a chocolate and candy factory land. I think this is because recently we just watched the movie – Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

It is a few boilers and mixture boilers whereby you can climb to each and everyone of them to get your favourite candies. Well, she is a chocolate lover, I can’t blame her.

Well… We are really proud of them!

And, so happened that this activity is one of the requirements which suits the Faith In God Program under the Developing Talents category, thus we counted this in as part of our Faith In God activity day.

IMG_8638_thumb[4]

This is Issac and Annabelle 2nd time participation in an art exhibition, display their very own art piece and art works! It is not only the canvas painting but the stool painting and the puppet artwork too! Daddy and Mummy really proud of them!

IMG_7597 This is all that I am eagerly waiting for - "The Tree of Life . Our World 2014” Jane Yap Atelier Students Art Exhibition. It will be from 23rd August to 30th August 2014.

Ever since enrolled both Issac and Annabelle into the art class 2 years ago, with Aunty Jasmine recommendation to me on Jane Yap Atelier. I am very happy that let both children come to learn and attend Teacher Jane art class.

IMG_7601 I think is 2 years ago too, I got to know from Mummy Ang Lee Siang Facebook, that she brought her children came to see the art exhibition too.

From the photos that Lee Siang took and put up on the Facebook, the drawings which I saw from what were the student there learn, really amazed me at that point of time.

And, made me wonder which art studio is that that teach the children so well… Finally, this year is both Issac and Annabelle turn.

IMG_7612 We woke up early because the art exhibition is going to start at 10am, Teacher Jane asked the parents to bring the children as early as 9am.

There is an opening ceremony and the representative from Sin Chew Jit Poh is coming. The students are required to dress in white theme. Boys would be in white shirts. Girls would be in white blouse or in white dress.

As this is a joint function between Jane Yap Atelier and Sin Chew Charity Foundation, all the canvas bags are for sale and the proceeds will to sin chew foundation.

IMG_7645 It was early as we reached at Citta Mall. We went to Dr. Cafe Coffee for a drink before we went up to The Space Exhibition Hall.

On our way to 1st floor, we met with Teacher Jane. She wore in black colour theme. She told me that Issac is appeared in the Sin Chew Daily newspaper today. It was the interviews and all about the art exhibition today. I was so happy! That later I will go and get a copy of the newspaper today.

IMG_7652 The students and all the teachers having a group photos after the opening ceremony. There were so many parents and children there.

We took some pictures with each Annabelle and Issac art piece. I really do have a bit of surprise that both of their art pieces! Never think that both of them would have ok too!

We met with Ele Mun too. His art works really good and impressive as well. He drew only 1 bag with an eagle on it. Looks great too! His “Tree of Life” canvas art also very interesting!

IMG_7654

After I bought the Sin Chew Daily and read about the art exhibition, I did Wats App to Papa to tell him the joyfulness and happiness I have on this!

After that, Papa did Wats App me his sketch on Issac. It do look alike ^^

Well… Really proud and happy I am. This is their first ever art exhibition, display their very own art piece and art works!
