It’s a wonderful BBQ night with Cross family and their hospitality, and with most of the YSA from Puchong Branch. Sister Stephanie too was with us tonight.

Brother Felix and Sister Joyce were together with us too, as they knew their family in the early years. They left early and miss out the photo sessions.

2 Little Birds ^^ in the Nest Paper Plate Craft

When I was preparing the lesson for the Sunbeam class searching through the internet for an extra art and craft activities that would make the children interested in learning about the topic “I am Thankful for Birds & Insects”.

IMG_6438

I intend to have the Sunbeam children doing this craft as we are learning about the Lord’s creations which including birds. I did some modifications as I used some more economical materials which I can find.

IMG_6442You'll Need:

  • Brown colour Paper Plate
  • Construction paper in a variety of colours
  • Liquid glue
  • Scissors
  • Googly eyes
  • Colourful feathers
  • Brown or black yarn cut into small pieces
  • Kindergarten Teacher Laura (who has an amazing TPT Store and also blogs at Kindergarten Adventures) has graciously created this free template for the paper pieces (nest, bird, beaks) to help out those prepping for large groups. A HUGE thank you to her!

To Make:

  1. Start out by making your birds. Cut out two circles for the bird- one for the head and one for the body.

  2. Glue the two circles together.

  3. Add some googly eyes and an orange beak.

  4. Glue some feathers on the bird.

  5. Follow directions 1-4 for the second bird.

  6. Set your birds aside to dry and make the bird nest.

  7. Fold the brown colour paper plate to half and cut out a nest shape. Glue scraps of brown and black yarn onto the nest.

  8. Glue the birds onto the nest.

  9. Hang up the finished bird craft on wall!

I feel happy as well because I do not know I can create such a nice and attractive craft, and the Sunbeam children were enjoying making and doing it together with their lovely parents too! Feel blessed indeed!

The most important thing is to let the kids know that Heavenly Father and Jesus love them!  Open-mouthed smile

Annabelle’s Essay

This evening when I went to Mahkota wanted to fetch both Issac and Annabelle, Teacher Yang so happily told me that Annabelle’s Chinese essay have been improve. She asked me to go and read her essay which just put on the notice board.

It is really quite a surprise for me to see this! I never thought that Annabelle can have the ideas of writing the essay so good. She is all the while so reluctant to speak in Mandarin and most of the time speaking and converse in English with us and her friends.

May be it is due to she have no choice and have to learn to speak in Mandarin when she is studying in SRJKC Chee Wen now.

Well, anyhow this is a good start for her and I am happy to see this ^^

Noah’s Ark Paper Plate Craft

I first came across this Paper Plate Noah’s Ark craft when I was preparing the lesson for the Sunbeam class searching through the internet for an extra art and craft activities that would make the children interested in learning.

IMG_6009

I intend to have the Sunbeam children doing this craft as we are learning about the Lord’s creations which including animals. I did some modifications as I used some more economical materials which I can find.

IMG_6010You'll Need:

  • White colour Paper Plate
  • Brown colour Paper Plate
  • Colour pens
  • Blue colour construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glues
  • Staples
  • Draw or print out the animals in pairs ( I printed out from this website: http://www.firstpalette.com, there are so many types of animals to choose from)

To Make:

  1. Colour and cut out the animal print-outs or drawings. I printed out these animals sets on A4 paper size card stocks. After cutting out, just put aside.
  2. Take 1 white colour paper plate use as the background of the sky, and draw a rainbow using the colour pens.
  3. Take1 brown colour paper plate and cut it into half and use one half to form the front ark. Cut out 3 circles to form the port holes of the ark. Using brown and black colour pens to draw out the planks.
  4. Cut out waves shapes using blue colour construction paper and glue it on the brown colour ark.
  5. Start to arrange the animals, either glue it behind the brown colour ark.
  6. When these had been done, glue the brown colour ark onto the rainbow paper plate to form a pocket.
  7. You can decorate the rainbow paper plate by glue the regular size craft sticks to form a wooden house shape and glue the Prophet Noah at the side too.
