Virtual Christmas Caroling #1 ~ Joy to the World

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are still unable to go to Church for sacrament meetings. This year the members of the Church would be celebrating Christmas in our own home instead, not like the previous years that we can have our branch Christmas party in the chapel.

 

Sister Jennifer was so thoughtful and kind enough to help organize a virtual Christmas caroling for the members of the Church. She gathered most of the Christmas carol members to prepare singing video at our homes and forward to her to do some editing for the videos. Here is one of the group songs that both Alvin and myself, but in different costumes!

RSY Music Concert 19 Jan 2020

Today is Annabelle’s violin concert day. It is at Malaysian Ceylonese National Community Center (MCNCC) which is located at Petaling Jaya area.

We did not go to Church today as all of us have a good sleep. We were advised to be there at 11.30am.

Teacher Yaalliny have enough time to arrange her students in right order and tune their instruments.

She participated in the Quarter – Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presly. Whereby her own solo is Minuet 3.

The concert time was from 12.30pm to 1.30pm. There is no fix attire or dress code. This is the 2nd time we saw her on the stage play violin again.

It is good to see her on stage and play violin again. Hope she can continue till grade 8!

Puchong Branch Christmas Carolling @ Puchong IOI Mall 21 Dec 2019

Yesterday afternoon our family joined for Puchong Branch Christmas Carolling at Puchong IOI Mall.

Our Church’s name is printed and listed on the mall Christmas celebration theme ‘Enchanting Garden of Wonders’ program.

Our performance is at 2.00pm. We were told to be at the mall at 1.00pm. We left the house earlier as Alvin would be meeting us at the mall from his job site. Our family was there around 11.30am.

We still have time for our lunch at the Chicken Rice Shop, then we meet the rest of the carollers at the old wing side of the mall.

For the ladies, all of us changed to red colour blouse with black pants or skirts, and a green glittering scarfs. As for the men, they changed to red T-Shirts as well. All of us were wearing the red Christmas hats.

We were practising the Christmas songs for sometime at church. We have limited time to practice and learning about the steps as well but all of us trying our best to do it.

This is the first year that our family is joining the Christmas carolling. This is the 4th year that Puchong Branch being invited to do the Christmas carolling in IOI Mall.

Initially Alvin has a solo ‘Wonderful Christmas Time’ but unfortunately few days before Saturday, he lost his voice and was unable to sing the solo. Sister Jennifer has to restructure his song for all to sing.

While we were on stage singing, our Santa Claus, Christmas Tree and Santarina were busy distributing the candies.

Our Santarina Sister Anesha, Christmas Tree Brother Kok Cin and little Hannah.

Sister Jennifer is such a great talented singer and leader to us! We managed to make it through! This year both little Hannah and Issac are their first performance in the public! They are doing great!

I am too little amazed that my son can do well and not afraid when he sings in the public and such a big crowd! We met with Sister Joyce too, as she purposely came to IOI Mall to support us! We were so happy that she came.

Thanks to Sister Jennifer’s guidance and our manager Sister Peggy for coordinating through for this. Like Sister Jennifer said, “The best gift that we can offer to our Savior is to share His Light!”

Finally we had a group photo after our performance! And, Merry Christmas Everyone! Ho…Ho…Ho…

Mecaje 2019 Year End Concert

This year the theme of the Mecaje Year End Concert is Everyone is Gifted. And that is how the musical, drama and dancing came on stage.

This year Issac does not have much roles in the drama, a very small role only. Instead he has joined in the band and played with the keyboard. He has been practiced all the while in the school for this show.

It is quite different for us as parents see him play other musical other than the church hymns song. We are very proud of him too.

Issac joined the rest of the Mecaje students in group singing as well.

Whereby this year Annabelle have a portion of the solo singing as well within the group. She also be the narator of the drama.

She is involves in the dancing as well. Well, she is very happy with her own participation in the concert itself.

There is one thing need to mention here is Annabelle is 12 years old this year, meaning she is graduating from her Primary and next year she will be joining to Secondary. Thus, there was a small graduation ceremony for all the 12 years old Primary students in Mecaje.

Surprisingly Annabelle is the best student in academic in the Primary. She is so happy to get the award! We are surprise as well!

Finally, all the Mecaje students sung ‘A Million Dreams’ and ended the night. It is an enjoyable evening for the students, parents and the teachers. They have prepared for months just for tonight 2 hours presentation or concert. Bravo to the students and teachers!

Annabelle Passed Violin Grade 1

Today I received Annabelle’s Violin Teacher Yaalinny WhatsApp message, informed me that Annabelle has passed her ABRSM Violin Grade 1 Exam. I am so happy. Finally after so long of learning violin, Annabelle passed her Grade 1 exam!

I know that she must be feeling happy too, at last can move on to Grade 2. I shared the message to our family group chat, everyone is happy about that, especially her dearest daddy!

Hohoho… Both Alvin and I are saying finally, it comes!

Ongoing Keyboard Lesson

Due to Bro Kok Cin not available today to teach the keyboard lesson, sister Amy and Issac both substitute for the keyboard lesson today at church this morning.

I seldom see how Issac teach the students as I am always stay at the Primary room either writing blog or preparing for the talk or lesson. I just took a few photos during the lesson and I posted it on the Keyboard leaders chat group.

Surprisingly Sister Colman in the group chat and she thanked us for the pictures of the keyboard classes. She could not believe how much Issac has grown! She will always be amazed at the selfless service that all her keyboard students have each given to continue teaching everyone.

Sister Colman wants the Harmon’s to know about our classes, because this is how the Harmon’s meant for the program to be implemented. She congratulate to everyone of the students and bravo for their job. She said she miss us all and love us!

I am grateful that Issac able has the opportunity to participate in this Harmon’s program and able to learn the keyboard from Sister Colman that has the patience and love to teach the students in the branch.

Mecaje 2018 Year End Concert

This year the theme of the Mecaje Year End Concert is One Step Higher. One big surprise that he would wants to give to Alvin is he become the emcee of the night too.

This year Issac has involve in a lot in drama set, as one of the main characters in the drama. He has been practiced all the while in the school for this show.

She is involves in the dancing as well. Well, she is very happy with her own participation in the concert itself.

Surprisingly Annabelle has a price to get for this academic year too!

It is an enjoyable evening for the students, parents and the teachers. They have prepared for months just for tonight 2 hours presentation or concert. Bravo to the students and teachers!
