Of coarse we had the Lou Hei Yee Sang. Nothing gets a Chinese New Year get together to a more rousing start than an energetic 捞起魚生 raw fish salad tossing session.

WIW Mid Year Review Janda Baik 16 Jul 2011

267474This year is the 3rd year I joined Prudential, still a part time agent.

This year, a bit different that our agency have a mid year review organized outside the agency office.

This time, the leaders organized it at Janda Baik, one of the motivational camp. We met at the Taman Sea Prudential office early in the morning, then we headed to Janda Baik.

267879The breakfast, lunch and 2 tea breaks were inclusive in the price. The food served was just nice as all of us were hunger for food after these brain storming and brain drain sessions.

This mid year review mainly is to review our first half results of the year 2011, and planning how are we going to achieve the sales goals we were settled early this year.

268469We select our committee for each department for this second half of the year too, to help in every supporting activities for the group.

There was reports or reviews of each team goals achieved vs goals forecast that each of us set earlier on.

There were some team building games, some brainstorming session, and our speaker of the day is Mr. Alex Lee.

283534_220291338013688_125585860817570_602152_7598679_nMr. Alex Lee is the Senior Agency Manager which was the pioneer in the Prudential since Prudential was here in Malaysia.

He was and still grooming the agents under him to become unit manager, agency manager which grow his monthly income to RM100,000.00! it is so inspiring!

268964He shared with us how to do this business successful and how to build ourselves stronger in order to build our clientele more. It was a good session.

I like the training ground of the campsite, as it is just next beside the river.

Janda Baik is a small town or villages just on the way to the Bukit Tinggi or Genting Highlands. The weather here is so cool and not really hot.

282529_220293111346844_125585860817570_602170_5889246_nThe training camp just located nicely next to a small river which running through the whole camp. It is just like living in a kampong.

Well, I gained a lot in this mid year review, hope I can able to apply it in the Prudential Business and earn more!

Question to be Answered

Yet, another day of busyness and restless… Received call from Boss about the evening time, mentioning on some work issues: others departments complaining me that not efficient enough to finalise the contractors for the project to kick off, I am to absorb everything to myself and did not share the workload out, bullied by the contractors, not a good negotiator, etc. I am just listening, listening and listening. This really made me wonder, am I really not that competent enough? Is it time for me to something else? something new? something different? I though during Ham was here like that, but when he is gone also like that. Actually, I did not expect much when Ham was leaving the company, all the paper works was done by myself all this while. Comments like that made me feel like am I not that ‘worth’? Or overpaying? Here comes the question again: do I need to leave for something new? for both win-win situation?Hmmm…

No Time for Problems

Parents are usually too busy to solve problems, they just live through them! Pick a problem in your life. Be brave and take a minute to write down the problem in the middle of a blank sheet of paper. Brainstorm every solution you can think of. Don’t let your solutions be judged by whether or not they seem possible at this time. Your brainstorming solutions are like seeds planted in a field – one will take root over time and begin to grow. Feeling and expressing the problem will make you feel better, even if no immediate solution is at hand.

SUA Chinese New Year Lucky Draw Cum January Birthday Celebration 2009

It was sort of traditions that every interior designs & contractors firms will be receiving a lot of hampers prior the Chinese New Year holidays.

Our company received a lot this year due to the Eon Bank Group projects. Every single one of the staffs managed to get a hamper to bring back home. The only different would be the lucky draw event, see which of the hamper that you will bring back, everyone got a chance for their pick. Some of the colleagues have to tele-conferencing when we drew their pick on their behalf, as some of them were at job site and outstations on the ongoing projects.

Actually, there was another event too that, January birthday boys and girls celebration. But it seems likes only Noraini alone was cutting the cake.

It was a really fun event, as all of the staffs got their hampers before the holidays!

I am Drowning…

P1011039 I do not know why I feel like do not want to work after these chained of holidays, one after another. Especially after company given some compulsory KRA to everyone of us to achieve within end of this year, and some more add in some sales elements and eventually a task which have to achieve by a department as a whole just throw onto me individually. Things even made me feel sad and unmotivated when my own Prudential Biz not moving forward as no activities and I can’t find a balance time frame with Daddy. All these things really made me go hair wired and feel nuts.

But of course, both of you babies always my priority. Just hope and pray, things can turns out better the way I plan. I really need to get rid off this!!!

Positive Feelings

Do you ever feel tired enough that you don’t want to get out of bed? Or maybe you feel sad about some aspect of your life. On index cards, write down positive, happy, uplifting thoughts of your own, or quotes by others. Read them when you wake up in the morning. Read them before you go to bed at night. Read them when you feel tired or died. It helps to write down positive affirmations in areas of your life you might be working on. It’s a way of retraining your brain. For example, if you are not a morning person and you dislike getting out of bed in the morning, the affirmation might read, “ I will wake up bright and ready to face the morning with energy and happiness.” It’s possible this could be called brainwashing, but it works!

Company May & June Birthday Celebration 2009

The sports club committee planed for the birthday boys and girls for the month of May and June together. So happened that it was fall on my birthday 26 June 2009. It was really a joyous event of the day, that i received birthday wishes on the day from all the colleagues.

Noraini and Hasni bought the birthday cake. It was a brownie cheese cake from Secret Recipes, Hasni was so clever that she bought her own favourite cake because she is birthday girl too for the month of June. Besides that, Amran and me too. Then, boss, Zairul and Judy birthdays are in May.

Due to earlier everyone of us is busy on the ongoing projects, left us not much time to gather and celebrate until on that day.

Actually, there was another event too that, Judy will leave us, she was resigned because have to take care her both sons. We are going to miss her because she is really a nice lady. She took care of boss and us. Everyday she filled up the pantry tables with all sorts of biscuits, cakes, titbits for us to eat, just in case we work late and hungry.

It was a really fun party, as the menu of the day were nasi lemak, with sambal sotong, boiled eggs, fried vegetables and rendang ayam too. The food were delicious, Noraini ordered from Section 17 Petaling Jaya near the flat areas. Everyone is enjoying the food very much. There were titbits and drinks too.

At least, it was quite a memorable one for me… yummy yummy the food…

Prudential Mid Year Conference 3–6 Jul 2009

JL & SC carThis is the first time ever since I joined Prudential, the first conference that I attended.

And, it is so special that Prudential held it at two locations for the first time ever in the history as well: 3rd – 6th July 2009 at Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) and 18th – 21st July 2009 at Four Points Sheraton Kuching.

Our group Winners Within (WIW) joined the Melaka event.

Lunch - Chicken Rice BallTogether 5 cars went down to Melaka around 4:00 pm, which are Alison’s Toyota Wish, C.K’s Toyota Unser, Jackson’s Toyota Vios, Amos’s Proton Satria and S.T’s BMW.

The programme had been laid out fine to us when we reached Melaka town.

We arrive into Melaka and checked in to Mahkota Hotel. We had our dinner together with another group Sivan at a Baba & Nyonya Restaurant.

Dinner - Table 3

After that, our next destination was Jonker Street to walkabout and shop around. Then, we came and take a drink at the famous and the one tourist would not miss sight, The Geographer. We adjourned to another Discovery Café.

Jackson secretly organized a surprise birthday party for Stephanie, his beloved wife.

Really a tired night as after that, we still go for supper near Mahkota Hotel, because some of the members wanted to try for satay colok.

Breakout at Jonker Street

Amber and I stayed at same room, both us can’t stand any more. I had headache, so we slept earlier…1:30 am?

The second day 4th July 2009, the whole day programme was like rushing from one hall to another hall, just to catch up breakfast, speeches, coffee break, breakout sessions, then lunch, another breakout session, coffee break, platform speaker.

SY2 at MY Conference

I had attended Mr Yen Sze Wei for Mandarin session for the session 1, then Dr Grace Kong for English Session for session 2.

Actually, I personally felt that Lt. Col. (Rtd) Izaidin is the most powerful speaker which I had earned some ideas from him.

Just to summarise, the essence of the whole is ‘I believe I can do it’ and ‘To grow is to change’.

WIW Group Photo

The conference ended with some ‘goodies’ that Mr Lai Leong Pin gave: extended the Star Club another 3 months to end of December this year.

That night, we went for Karaoke and having buffet dinner there. I cannot recall which Karaoke but it is at the Dataran Pahlawan Melaka.

Everybody is so happy and relaxed. But I do not know why I am so ‘sad’ thinking of my career in this business. Really have to put on my thinking head…

The third day, we left our hotel and went for the chicken rice ball for our lunch before we left Melaka. That’s completed our trip to Melaka.
