Serving Others #2 ~ Write a letter to a teacher, your parents, or your grandparents telling them what you appreciate and respect about them.
After last month our branch activity day at Bukit Jalil Recreational Park with the physical fitness program, this month I plan to check off one of the activity and I think it is suitable for the month of May – Mother’s Day.
Today is 2nd Sunday of the month, and it is the actual Mother’s Day.I was planning for the Valiant children this writing activity for their beloved Mothers at the Mother’s Day.
I had worked together with most of the Valiant children last Sunday after the Primary Sharing Time. Currently we have 7 Valiant children whom participated in the Faith in God program.
They are Cherrie Goh, Annabelle Goh, Livia Tan, Janeelyn Tan, Keifer, Miguel and of coarse my Annabelle Yu.
Last Sunday, I sat down together with Cherrie, Annabelle, Keifer and Miguel on this activity. Annabelle Yu had already gone through this activity last year during the Father’s Day, which I had together with both her and Issac.
I just prepared some “Letter Starter” ideas so that can help the children write their own letter on the letter set that they choose. I managed to get the cute little letter sets which I bought at Daisho Store last year.
Then, I briefed through this activity, and asked them to write an appreciation letter to their mother. They were using the colour pens, and decorated their letters with some stickers which I still have some spare.
The children just passed me back the love letters, so that I can handed back to them on the following Sunday to them, and let them give it to their mothers.
Today I continued the activity with Jeneelyn and Livia as both were absence last Sunday.
After the Church, before all the children went back, I took out all the letters to them, and asked them to bring back home for their beloved mothers.
If possible, take a photo with their mothers and WhatsApp in the chat group.
I really hope the mothers would appreciate the letter that their children wrote to them, and hope the Valiant children enjoyed this activity.
