Today Teacher Gek Lan taught us how to draw jewel or diamond using Renaissance tile. This time we did use some tools such as circle or eclipse template for the shapes.
Using Renaissance tile, I learned using more tools such as the white charcoal pencil to highlight the brightness of the light and brown colour pen. Besides the lightness, I still can shade the shadow using black graphite pencil too.

Today we started with the Renaissance tile, and we learned about how to create the basic tangle patterns from the within or outer shape. We had learned this during our first Zentangle class 2 months ago. It sort of relearn.
Then, Teacher Mici taught us to draw something related with the Halloween as it is around the corner.
Finally she asked us to draw something related to our mood today.
Well.. before we went back home, we had a group photo ^^

Annabelle was going out with her Primary friends today with the accompany by Teacher Melissa. They went to Bandar Utama One Utama Shopping Complex. Alvin was the one fetched her to the shopping complex. After which, Alvin fetched her back after they finished their activity. She was having fun!
Today Teacher Gek Lan taught us another new design, it looks like a sea shell or a pearl.
It was kind of difficult for me to draw and I do not like much about this new design. Hopefully go back home, then I have more time to practice and see how others draw this design.
Well… this is the 2nd time I joined with the Puchong Tzu Chi Continuing Education Centre organised classes.
It is the 禅绕种子班 which on the same time from 10/10/2019 till 26/12/2019 with total 12 classes. We will learn from Zentangle using white paper tile, renaissance paper tile, black paper tile, Zendala and apply the Zentangle patterns we know on clothing or related art products.
Today Teacher Gek Lan taught us and refreshed our skills and memories from where we started – Bijou and White Tile. From the 8 Steps of Zentangle Method, we drew our own again ^^
This is what I did today. It was kind of awkward that pick up the Pigma pen again and started again after left out for so long. Well… It feels good again to feel and able to enjoy the process of letting my mind to fly free again.
Got this photo of mum when papa posted on the family group chat. It is an old photo of her wearing a little bit of American Cowboy style and it was taken at grand mum's shop lot at Labis. I was may be around kindergarten age.
Frankly I do not know her. I did not talk with her much as I was newly working at Kuala Lumpur, and I did not go back home town most of the time. Spending my time concentrate on my career and job.
I missed her so after I became a mother myself. I realised that how she might felt I have become a mother myself. One would never know how their parents feel and go through provided they themselves have experienced it. It is so true.
I wonder how she able to take care 4 of us, doing household chores and earning some through tailoring at home. I wonder if she has dreams that she wanted to achieve but unable because of putting her 100% to the family?
There are so many questions that I would like to ask her but I can not…
Today of the Soul Collage last class, we learned about reading our own soul collage cards by drawing 3 cards. Teacher Mici taught us how to read our cards but of coarse before that think of our question as we draw our cards.
We gathered as a group of four persons. Then we started to read our cards The first person to read will state their question out loud and then turn over their first card. The card reader names this card (if it has a name) and says which suit it is from.
Now the card reader speaks from the card, starting with “I Am the One Who…” process. Use adjectives. Let your intuition bubble up with descriptive words and feeling words. Even if it is an animal or an inanimate object, give it a voice, a life, and a point of view.
Then speak to the question, “What I can tell you about this issue is…” or “What I have to say to your question is…” Stay as true to the energy of the Neter as you can.
We records the gist of what this Neter is saying (Don’t try to speak and write at the same time). After the person has finished speaking fully then there is time for questions & feedback.
Group members: Can ask a question about a symbol or share a thought they had if the card reader wants to hear ii. However, do not contradict or negate the reading, they only say something if they can add to and/or honour the reading. (This discussion should not take up too much time).
Then it is the turn of the next person (the person to the card reader’s left in the circle) to read from their first card. Complete the circle and go around the circle again with the next card.
Repeat the process until all the cards from all the participants have been read. At the end of all the readings, Sum up: What did you get from doing this reading? Share any thoughts about your own reading.
Look at any patterns in the cards or any repeated symbols. Observe any paradoxes or surprises. Notice if the question answered was different from the one asked. If you have a thought about someone else’s reading as a whole, ask their permission before sharing it.
During the class some of us gained some solutions of our issues/problems related to people, matters and objects.
Well… Today is the conclusion of the 12 weeks of Creativity Aesthetics Arts and the final class of the SoulCollage. Frankly speaking, I love Zentangle and Pastel Nagomi Art both the most.
As for me, SoulCollage is a method of self-discovery through the creation and intuitive analysis of a deck of collaged cards. There are another parts which I am still not very comfortable of it.
It is that during create our own decks of cards, we would prompt to create the cards which we ourselves would not aware of what was in our subconscious or unconscious mind ~ probably the darker side of ourselves which we do not want to disclose or face. There is good and bad about this, as this is the time to face our darker or weaker side of ourselves. if I see it at another perspective would be, I can improve where I lack off.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I believe in I have a loving Heavenly Father who loves me so much and as a daughter of Him, I am able and entitle to receive my own revelation from Him if I faithfully in keeping my baptismal and temple covenants. Thus, I have the faith and I rely on Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ on receive solutions to any trials or problems that I encounter through the promptings of the Holy Ghost.
I still remember that last weekend we were talking and discussing with Annabelle on her birthday celebration. Initially Alvin and I would like to do it on Sunday for our family celebration.
Surprisingly Annabelle was totally against the idea of doing it on Sunday. The reason being is Sunday is a Sabbath day and she preferred to do it on the actual day – Tuesday night. We just followed her decision.
For Issac’s 12 years old birthday, we did small birthday party for him with his friends from Chee Wen and Macaje Academy at our apartments club house. He had a memorable one.
As for Annabelle's 12 years old, due to all her friends are her schoolmates and Mecaje Academy is at Subang 2, so far away from our home, Alvin and I intend to give a surprise celebration for her at her school during her recess time at 12.00 noon. I checked with her Primary teacher Melissa and kept it a secret and surprise from Annabelle.
Both Alvin and I planned out that we asked Restaurant Kaikaixin to help us to cater some food for 30 persons for all the Primary students and all the teachers in the school.
There was fried rice, fried mee hoon, chicken curry and 30 pcs of red hard boiled eggs. Teacher Melissa helped us for the drinks for the students. Alvin ordered a 2Kg vanila chocolate and mango cake in Bear Bears cartoon shape for her.
We were at the school around 11.15am helped to prepare all the food at the 2nd floor. We waited for the Primary recess time at 12.00 noon, and finally saw Annabelle’s face at the glass door. She seems like she got to know about the surprise celebration! She is happy!
All the Primary Students and their primary teachers sung the Happy Birthday song and celebrate for her 12 years old officially. Her teachers even post as the Bear Bears cake shape during having the photos!
Alvin and I rushed back to our offices after this small celebration with her together with her friends and Issac.
After work we continue our second part of her birthday celebration at Main Place USJ21 Shell Out. This is not the first time we celebrate birthdays at Shell Out. All of us loves to have meals here.
We have our presents opening time at home. Alvin bought a pair of roller skates. She was so happy and she wants to try on her new toy! She received a pair of roller skates 2 years back from Alvin too. This time the new pair is different and it comes with the roller skates shoes, and it would be easier for her to wear.
I have promised her earlier to buy the Candy Series Comics books for her birthday, but I told her that I would only buy 2 books. She was happy about that and satisfied with her 2 books. Actually, I bought extra 3 books for her.
When Alvin told her that there were another surprises for her, she was yelling in surprise when getting in total 5 books!
My sweet daughter is growing up too fast. Over thee past years, we have been celebrating her birthdays, and now she is officially 12! I know it’s a clinche, but the time really has flown! I can’t believe that I soon will have a teenage girl in the house.
It did give me kind of shock when I got to know that she had her first ever period last 2 months ago. It’s official! Annabelle is no longer my little baby.
I remember saying to her sometimes, “I can’t believe how fast time is flying by! One day you and Issac both have grown up and left home and where will I be?” She looked at me with her serious face and said flatly, “You will be old, mum!”
I wish my sweet little darling blessed with what Heavenly Father wants you to be and please remember to stay in His Light whatever you may encounter!
