Tadika Brainchild Issac Graduation & Concert 12 Nov 2011

Today marked Issac 6th birthday, and today too marking his graduation from the Tadika Brainchild, and he is going to Primary 1 next year.

Time really flies fast. Still remember the days when he was just a little baby in my arms…

This would be the last year concert which he had. Every year, the school would give a notice that no photography is allowed during the concert.

The school has engaged a professional photographer and videographer for the concert. Parents were advised to purchase the photos and videos from the class teachers after the concert. However, many parents still came with their cameras.

This year still the same, especially for this is the first time, the school had organized it with 3 kindergartens which are under the same group together in this grand and famous Putrajaya International Convention Centre.

The school has also informed us that there will be a professional photographer and videographer on that day. So, we can purchase the pictures in CD format and video after the concert.

We arrived there quite early as we had our breakfast early too. We had been waited for a while at the waiting or holding area, whereby Issac’s teacher gave us the graduation gown to change, and accompany by Daddy waited outside the hall to come in.

Annabelle went to the back stage with teachers get ready for her performance.

I went into the hall and find a seat next to the walkway and waited for Daddy after the marching.

The concert began with a welcome speech and opening speech from the school principal and the group chairman.

After the address given by the organizing committee, all the graduating students marched into the hall in their graduation gown accompany by their parent to receive their graduation certificates form the Principal.

After the certificate presentation, the concert began with delightful performance from the pre-nursery children.

The cuteness overloaded as the little children walked up the stage with colorful and fun attires.

Annabelle’s class was performing a ducklings dance. Happiness swelled up in my throat when I saw her walked up the stage in a cute yellow suckling costume and make-up.

She looks cute! She looked a bit puzzle on what was going on as she is only 4 years old. Most importantly, she is happy to be on stage with her friends. All her other classmates have performed very well too.

Annabelle have another Ballet performance which she took the lessons in Tadika Brainchild.

I decided to let her learn since Tadika Brainchild have such lessons to offer to the children.

She looks so ‘outstanding’ as she is he only one keep on falling behind after other older girls! Hah, but she is so cute!

After which is Issac’s class to perform. He looks fantastic! He performed very well this year – as compared to his debut performance 2 years ago.

I still can remember how he was crying on the stage and we have to take him back straight to home.

Different with last time, he was really enjoy with the dance this round. So happy for him. My Issac has grown to a big boy!

Months of practice and preparation have finally culminated into a heart-winning performance that touched all the audience – each and every one of us, the parents!

The principal, teachers and committee members should be proud of themselves for making this graduation concert a success. And congratulate and tank all of them for all their hard works and efforts.

After the concert, we quickly went backstage to pick up both Issac and Annabelle. When we saw both of them, we gave both a big hug, and told them, “ Daddy and Mummy are so proud of you all!”

Jong’s Crocodile Farm & Zoo 6 Nov 2011

This is our 2nd time in a year visit Jong’s Crocodile Farm. The reason we came back to Kuching is due to the illnesses of my father-in-law. He is suffering from lung cancer.

       

It is really quite a shock to me as early this year, we came back Kuching to celebrate the Chinese New Year not really notice that he have any illnesses, just may be sometimes he looked tired. Thus, sister Agatha asked us to come back for a few days to visit him.

                   

Well, as our routine itinerary we visited the Jong’s Crocodile Farm again. Issac always very supportive in taking photographs as usual. And, as usual also Annabelle seems like don’t bother much as she always do. Not much photos were taken this round.

Megah D’Aru Hotel 30 Aug – 2 Sep 2011

Megah D’Aru Hotel was booked by Daddy on the internet, before we came to Kota Kinabalu. It is located in the heart of Tanjung Aru Township, is strategically located a mere 5-minutes drive south of Kota Kinabalu City centre and north of the Kota Kinabalu International Airport.

The soft, pastel colour scheme applied on rooms on each floor is carefully chosen to reflect the colourful lifestyle of friendly and courteous Sabahan.

There is a Conference & Banquet Hall in Megah D’Aru Hotel is ideal for small meeting, seminar or banquet. It is supported by basic facilities such as PA system, white screen, flipchart, and white board. Other seminar aides that are available for rent include LCD projector, TV monitor, VCD/DVD player and laser pointer.

There is a Cafe & Bar which is located on the lobby level, opens daily. The café open daily from 7.00am till 10.00pm and serves authentic and original recipes ranging from local favourites to western delicacies. With its friendly and courteous service coupled with the warmth and colourful ambience of the café, it is the perfect place for that idle chit-chat with your friends, family or serious business meetings. We also had our daily breakfast here every morning before we went off for our daily adventures. But, I did not snap more photos of the hotel other than our own room.

The reflexology and therapy hub is located on the lobby level of the hotel. It operates daily from 12.00noon till 10.00pm and offers a range of services that will leave you with refreshed body and pampered soul.

Issac and Annabelle were asking Daddy to buy souvenirs as a remembrance of this trip to Kota Kinabalu. Finally, both also choose turtles as their favourite presents!

Sabah State Museum & Heritage Village 2 Sep 2011

Just off Jalan Penampang and surrounded by lush gardens is the Sabah Museum Complex, comprising the Main Building, the Science and Technology Centre, the Heritage Village, Ethno-Botanical Garden and the Sabah Islamic Civilization Museum.

We did not expect Sabah State Museum compound is so big, once we entered, we had been attracted with the exhibitions of the antique vehicles and the water features at the entrance area.

The Main Building is designed after a traditional Rungus longhouse. There was a huge ‘basket’ displayed outside the building, as it is really a big attractions.

In the main building, inside are the Ethnography, Natural History, Ceramics, Archaeology and History Galleries that showcase the rich and diverse culture and history of Sabah. The Main Building also houses the Marble Hall for temporary exhibitions.

The Science and Technology Centre houses three exhibitions: oil and gas production in Sabah, broadcasting in Sabah and a North Borneo Railway in Sabah. We did not enter and see the exhibitions of these. As we were more interesting and eager want to see the Heritage Village outside the compound area because we had limited time as we need to rush straight to the air port after this to catch our flight.

The Heritage Village is situated within the Ethno Botanical Gardens in the Sabah Museum Complex. The Heritage Village allows guests a chance to view several traditional houses of Sabah within a small area.

Among them are a Bajau House complete with a wedding dais, a Murut longhouse with a lansaran (trampoline), a Chinese farmhouse with earthen floor, a Bamboo House and a House of Skulls.

The Ethno Botanical Gardens are comprising of commercial, medicinal, ritual and food and ornamental plants make up the well-planned gardens of the Sabah Museum.

A Montane Garden also graces the grounds of the Museum.

Well, it was a fun outing too for us on the last day at Kota Kinabalu. After the visit, we drove straight to the LCCT for our flight back to Kuala Lumpur.
