- Paint – black and white (grey) or silver, red, orange and yellow
- Dark Blue or Black colour construction paper (1 piece)
- Light Blue construction paper (1/2 piece)
- Sponges
- Scissors
- Glue Stick
- Cup to trace the size of the sponge
- Cotton buds
- Cut the lighter blue construction paper in half. Use a glue stick and stick it down on half of the darker blue or black construction paper.
- Print out the scriptures verses and cut out one for each kid in preparation.
- Have your child paste down the verse at the top or bottom of the paper.
- Find a cup to trace around and trace with a Sharpie on the sponge. Cut out where you traced. You will want two sponges – one for the sun and one for the moon.
- If you have three paint colours – red, orange and yellow for the sun, squirt them out on a plate. Swirl with a cotton bud, but do not mix completely.
- Have the kids dip the sponge in the paint and press it onto the lighter blue paper. Have them use a cotton bud to pull away from the paint to create the rays of the sun.
- Mix the grey paint by combining black and white (or you might just start with a grey paint). In my case, I got silver paint, thus I used silver. Like the sun, just let them dip it and stamp.
- As for the stars, as I do still have collections of stickers, I just asked the children to stick on the moon page.
Here are some of the works of the children.
