It is October and Jane Yap Atelier two years once Our World art Exhibition is here again. I believe this is what most of the parents and students are waiting for.
This year due to our family have some financial constraints, Annabelle has stopped the art class at Teacher Jane while Issac still continue. Thus, only Issac participated in this year art exhibition.
This year theme is "The Colours . Our World Art Exhibition 2018”. There are total of over 300 artworks and installation art produced by the students and teachers. These all are from the students from both Citta Mall and Gamuda Walk.
This year Jane Yap Atelier is collaborating with CITTA Mall, fashion designer Cassey Gan and supported by UNICEF Malaysia. The students had fun exploring painting on fabric material instead of the norm. Students from different age group and skills worked as a team to paint on each bib.
It is an opportunity and unforgettable experience for students to work together to produce these creative art pieces. Jane Yap Atelier teachers also chipped in by adding final touches to the children’s work.
The students work on Cassey Gan’s unique Signature Bibs and Bags. The exclusive hand-painted Bibs and Bags and are available for sale and all proceeds will be donated to UNICEF Malaysia’s South East Asia Primary Learning Metric (SEA-PLM) initiative.
We woke up early because the art exhibition is going to start at 10am, Teacher Jane asked the parents to bring the children as early as 9am. This year Alvin would not able to join due to his work at Johor Bahru.
It was early as we reached at Citta Mall. We went to Mc Donald’s for our breakfast before we went up to The Space Exhibition Hall. Outside the exhibition hall, there are arranged seating as there would be a fashion show for the boys and girls to showcase the Bibs and Bags. Ele Mun was one of the models. He was back from his studies at UK for a temporarily break.
The students are required to dress in white theme. Boys would be in white shirts, Girls would be in white blouse or in white dress like previous years. After the opening ceremony and speeches, the exhibition started with the fashion show. Various design of Bibs and Handbags were shown.
After the show, the exhibition hall was opened for the visitors to view the art displays. I took some pictures with Issac art piece. I am really stunned with his artwork. As a 13 years old boy, he came out the art piece for me is an adulthood mind.
He drawn numbers of stairs leading to all directions. The stairs were mainly in black and white, primary colour of red, blue and yellow, and secondary colour of orange and purple. There is a high pillar in the left, a small door at end of a stairway and a window hanging on top of the painting.
The teacher named his work as ‘Life’! Indeed suits his artwork! I am really impressed as this young boy I have can produce such a I can say an adulthood art piece. Well… I am proud of him too!
Something to be mentioned is that there is a big piece of art on the floor which were jointly produced by all the students together with the teachers. And, a cute hand drawn luggage too!
The art exhibition will be from 13th October (Saturday) to 16th October (Tuesday) 2018, time from 11am to 8pm. Venue at The Space, Citta Mall 2nd Floor. Entrance is free.
