Taman Tasik Perdana Kuala Lumpur 27 Sep 2009

After last weekend a break at Taiping, I keep on thinking of an idea that every weekends have a outing with both the children. Let them have the explorations of the nature through their very own sense such as touch it, see it, smell it, hear it and taste it (if possible, :-)

The thoughts came to me when I read my favourite book 365 Days of Baby Love. An activity a weekend. Especially after last weekend, we had spend about RM500 just for a weekend, then, the idea of Jalan-Jalan Kuala Lumpur or Selangor is enough for the temporarily till Chinese New Year next year. We will go back to Kuching for the festival about two weeks. For sure, we will spend and now it is best to travel locally and not spending too much. Then, Taman Tasik Perdana strike my mind. We departed at 7:30 am.

Taman Tasik Perdana or fondly known as the Lake Garden, is the oldest and most popular park in Kuala Lumpur. Its main attraction is the artificial lake surrounded by lush greenery in a 92ha. (227 acres) parkland that provides a refreshing ambiance. We entered through Jalan Cenderamulia entrance. There are many cars parking along the roadside.

The first thing that strike our eyes was the big children playground – Fantasy Planet with some high rise castles, dinosaurs which slides, swings were incorporated. There are peoples jogging on jogging tracks , doing exercises at the exercise stations; while senior people practice their Tai Chi. Take a breath of fresh air, strolling along the carefully planned paths or rowing on the lake.

After both children had their fun enough at the playground, we headed to the Deer Park. Unfortunately for us, it stated at the entrance, it is only open at 10:00 am, it will be too late for us already. Then, we just walked back, passed by a theme park ‘Oasis Park’. We left the park nearly 9:00 am and have our breakfast at Petaling Street. We planned to come back next weekends, until we have visit all the parks…

Attractions in the park include a Bird Park, Butterfly Park, Deer Park and an Orchid Garden, which are all reachable by foot or by car. From the gardens, there are other attractions such as the National Monument, Parliament House and the Planetarium.
