Art & Movie Day @ Citta Mall 22 Jun 2013

IMG_1436 I was so glad and happy today as Issac’s drawing was displayed at the shop front window at the Jane Yap Atelier.

The title of today painting is “Mask”. Thus, Issac drew a ‘Kuan Gong’ face mask. Then, he decorated the drawing paper the background with blue sky and greenery grass.

Annabelle’s “Mask” also very unique. Actually, her drawing gave me an impression of the Humpty Dumpty's face in the Alice in the Wonderland story. Yellowish face with a bit of moustache on the face of the mask ^^.

She was keeping on asked me, her painting pretty or not? I answered her, “Annabelle, yours is nice too. It is very special to Mummy.” Finally, she was smiling.

IMG_1437 After the art class, 3 of us went up to the 3rd Floor of Citta Mall MBO Cinema to watch the “Monsters University” animation movie. Monsters University tells the story of two monsters, Mike and Sulley, and their time studying at college, where they start off as rivals, but slowly become best friends.

The movie also tells us that, academic achievements is not everything for you to chase your own dreams. Your ideas, your hardworking, your passions and your character is the most fundamental in shaping you to become what you want to become in the future.

Personally, I myself really like the movie very much. The children too, love the movie very much. It had been a great weekend for us too.

Day Out with Daddy

IMG_1336Today is another day out for the children with their dad. Alvin picked them up at Citta Mall after their art class.

As usual I packed their day care bag of their pyjamas and extra clothing which might needed.

Alvin bought both of them new watches. And I know that both are enjoying their day with their daddy.

Dinner Date at Pasta Zanmai @ Empire Shopping Gallery 1 Jun 2013

IMG_1263 Today is yet another weekend Saturday for me and my precious to spend time with.  This my first time of eating Pasta Zanmai, so I have no idea what is good inside.

I over heard Ika mentioned about this place, she mentioned it is a nice place to dine. From the shop name itself, I would thinking of may be is the fusion food between Japanese food and Italian pasta.

Looking at the menu, the food serve here really nicely decorated. Combinations of sushi, pasta, pizzas, hot pots and etc.

IMG_1257 After looking through the menu, I choose a mini pasta set and a pizza for 3 of us.

It is more value for the money as both Issac and Annabelle cannot finish a big portion of the meal. This should be work nicely for us.

I choose the mini pasta set which is consisted of a Mini Asari Wafu Soup Pasta and Mini Chicken Teriyaki Rice.

As for the pizza is I can’t really recall what is the name, but it is really delicious; I choose a jug of fruit tea to share among 3 of us.

IMG_1258 While waiting our food to be serve, both kids took out their sketch book and drawing pencils and pens started drawing.

That is how most of the time, I brought some drawing books and colour pencils or pens during our outing time. So that, they can draw and less fighting on the dinner table.

And, I noticed that there is a bottle of Tabasco sauce? Is that American sauce? May be it means for the pasta. Definitely is not for Annabelle!

IMG_1264 The service is quite fast here. The food taste is really nice too. Both Issac and myself did not expect the pasta can make it this way – Japanese fusion style! And, it taste delicious.

The rice is normal, but both of us were quite delighted when we see the ‘tamago’ (egg) can be cook so nice!

And, the pizza too, as Annabelle did not complain, meaning it is ok for her.

We have wonderful dinner in Pasta Zanmai in Empire Shopping Gallery Subang Jaya.

After came out from the restaurant, Issac asked me that next time he wants to come here again and have dinner here. Happy ^^

Dots . Lines . Circles 18 May – 2 June 2013

IMG_0968 “Dots, lines, circles are the basic elements of painting.  Art derives from our daily lives.  It is the experiences from our daily lives that give inspiration to the formation of dots, lines and circles in art.”

“10 years ago, artists Yap Hong Ngee and Jane Yap jointly held an art exhibition entitled “6028” at Wisma Kebudayaan SGM for the first time. After 10 years, they return with the prime spirit of “dots, lines and circles”, and to begin a new milestone in their artistic journey. This exhibition is not simply an art exhibition, but also a wonderful dialogue between the father and the daughter. Many changes can occur within these 10 years, be it in art or in their lives.”

IMG_1192 “Yap Hong Ngee said: “In a flash of time, I am already 70 years old. There is an old saying that goes, ‘It is rare to live up to 70 years old’, but for me, 70 is just the beginning.” With this youthful heart, he continues to travel this long artistic road with his daughter, both armed with a strong sense of curiosity and seeking spirit to develop and explore the wonders of art.”

That is what Dots . Lines . Circles all about. An art exhibition by both father and daughter.

Jane Yap is both Issac and Annabelle art teacher. Jane Yap Atelier which is at Ara Damansara Citta Mall. I was so excited ever since I knew that both Teacher Jane and her dad are having an art exhibition together.

IMG_1193 Her dad Yap Hong Ngee is a very famous artist here in Malaysia, for his modern contemporary art in Chinese painting especially in drawing sparrows and flowers. He combined both traditional and modern in his paintings or artworks, in his own style. Teacher Jane Yap is more on cats. She loves to draw cats.

I drove down to the Wisma Kebudayaan SGM which is at Kuala Lumpur. We just have a visit to the art exhibition. Personally, I love Yap Hong Ngee’s art better, may be I am not very fond of cats. I love the sparrows very much. It really do reflect the messages in the paintings itself; Of coarse, there is something different in Teacher Jane’s cat. It is so simple and clean.

Both Issac and Annabelle love Teacher Jane cats. May be it is because at least cats wouldn’t be so boring.

IMG_1202 There was an art activity which organised by the SGM. Every each child was given a board and a piece of paper. There was a few dots and lines on the papers.

The children were asked to just draw whatever they like on the paper, just follow their imagination. So, Issac and Annabelle were sitting down drawing, while I was looking at the pieces of art works.

I thought we were meeting Yap Hong Ngee but I am not too sure on that. Any how, we were enjoying the day out. After the art exhibition, we went to Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall. The children were playing archery and we have our dinner there before we left to home.

20 Years of Friendship

IMG_1098

I came across this hand made bookmark which was in one of the books when I was doing my spring cleaning at home the other day.

This small bookmark was done by Renee. She is one of my secondary school classmates during at home town Labis time. When I saw this bookmark, it bring back so many memories during the old school days.

I posted it on the Facebook, and suddenly there was a big ‘ho ha’ where all the secondary school classmates came to the photo and leave messages!

Everyone still remember the good old days… That was the time that can not turn back now and we were so young then.

Home Sweet Home

IMG_1099

Issac drew this special drawing. He drew a dream house for me. He knows that I wanted to buy a better house with a better living environment for 3 of us. He remembers and he draw this house.

There is a fountain beside the house; there is also a playground for the children and a tree house too! Those are the things he loves. And he wrote there: I love you mother.

My both eyes were filled with tears and my heart is so warmth. I can feel his love for me! I love my boy!
