The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Puchong Branch Primary Activity Day ~ Mother's Day Love Letter

Serving Others #2 ~ Write a letter to a teacher, your parents, or your grandparents telling them what you appreciate and respect about them.

IMG_1359

After last month our branch activity day at Bukit Jalil Recreational Park with the physical fitness program, this month I plan to check off one of the activity and I think it is suitable for the month of May – Mother’s Day.

IMG_1367

Today is 2nd Sunday of the month, and it is the actual Mother’s Day.I was planning for the Valiant children this writing activity for their beloved Mothers at the Mother’s Day.

IMG_1734 IMG_1742

I had worked together with most of the Valiant children last Sunday after the Primary Sharing Time. Currently we have 7 Valiant children whom participated in the Faith in God program.

IMG_1361 IMG_1371

They are Cherrie Goh, Annabelle Goh, Livia Tan, Janeelyn Tan, Keifer, Miguel and of coarse my Annabelle Yu.

IMG_1357 IMG_1370

Last Sunday, I sat down together with Cherrie, Annabelle, Keifer and Miguel on this activity. Annabelle Yu had already gone through this activity last year during the Father’s Day, which I had together with both her and Issac.

IMG_1369 IMG_1363

I just prepared some “Letter Starter” ideas so that can help the children write their own letter on the letter set that they choose. I managed to get the cute little letter sets which I bought at Daisho Store last year.

IMG_1368 IMG_1372

Then, I briefed through this activity, and asked them to write an appreciation letter to their mother. They were using the colour pens, and decorated their letters with some stickers which I still have some spare.

IMG_1735 IMG_1741

The children just passed me back the love letters, so that I can handed back to them on the following Sunday to them, and let them give it to their mothers.

1d11e0ff-59fe-4807-bfe9-06716e1d124bToday I continued the activity with Jeneelyn and Livia as both were absence last Sunday.

After the Church, before all the children went back, I took out all the letters to them, and asked them to bring back home for their beloved mothers.

If possible, take a photo with their mothers and WhatsApp in the chat group.

I really hope the mothers would appreciate the letter that their children wrote to them, and hope the Valiant children enjoyed this activity.

All the dishes and meals were prepared by the Elders Quorum and Young Single Adults. We are very grateful to that – our one single night to enjoy ourselves for the hearty and satisfying dinner.

IMG_1710

Issac and Annabelle too, have been taken care of from the young women whom prepared the meals for them too.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Puchong Branch Primary Activity Day ~ Let's Get Physical!

Developing Talents #8 ~ Plan a physical fitness program for yourself that may include learning to play a sport or game. Participate in the program for one month.

Our Puchong Primary Presidency have decided a few activities through out this year of 2018, and all the activities will go along with the Faith in God Program, according to the District Primary Presidency’s direction.

IMG_1161 IMG_1162

We have a "Let’s Get Physical" activity day, which we organised at Bukit Jalil Recreational Park. Sister Jennifer designed a cute small invitation card, as a hand-out to the children to bring back home for their parents knowledge, and investigators too.

IMG_1023

Sister Jennifer is a dedicated Primary President. She created a WhatsApp group chat for the parents of the Primary children. We can keep the parents updated on all the information and activities for the children.

IMG_1042

We were there around 10.15am. All of us gathered at Bukit Jalil Recreational Park Car Park, and we headed to the designated picnic or rest area, which we can put all of our food and drinks on the table.

57daaf61-28c2-4a18-9fd8-19d5e6ce80c3

We started the activity with the opening prayer and message from Sister Jennifer around 10.45am. We had a little celebration for Denzel’s birthday and he is going to be young man.

IMG_1031

After the mini celebration, we started with the breakfast first before we start the program. We had hard boiled eggs, cakes, muffins, fried rice noodles, fruits and drinks. Then, we gathered all the Primary children and we have a warm up Banana Dance.

IMG_1059

It is really difficult to gather all the children at the same time, and doing the activity! We were quite exhausted!

IMG_1046

We were more focus for Valiant children, whereby they can able to complete one of the activities which required – that is the physical fitness.

IMG_1051

At last, I took out the jump rope which I bought yesterday, just in case we can get the children play the rope jumping. I was surprised that it turned out to be 360 degrees!

36951255-4ef8-4cc5-be27-8050a15d5ddd

All the children were so excited about it, everyone wanted to try to jump, even the younger children. Even the parents too, joined the fun!

074bf6d8-dbbd-4f07-878a-79477f22ee13

We had some food again after the sweaty rope jumping session. We ended the activity around 12.00 noon. Everyone of us cleaned and leaved the recreational park around 12.15pm.

IMG_1065

It was a simple and short outing for the children, and the parents too! Even though the turn out a bit little, but still it is an encouragement to us – the Primary workers!

IMG_1069

Other than that, I really felt proud with Issac, as He is the only Priesthood that attended this activity, indirectly he is watching over us… even though he is just an Aaronic Priesthood holder.

IMG_0372

It is on a Sunday. I was quite hesitate that want to let the children join the party as it is on Sabbath. All other children were ok with the date and will come, thus I think it is good too to let both Issac and Annabelle to join the party, as the kids did not see each others for quite a long time.

There were sandwiches, French fries and chicken nuggets for the children, together with the cooling jelly and drinks too. At the side of the serving table, there is a small corner for the kids or toddlers to play.

85c7531c-c846-4785-aac1-7223d6021da5

Both Alvin and I left both kids there, and we went for a drink and snacks at one Vietnamese restaurant near Taipan area too.

520c8134-6d5d-4bed-9279-432fc7bfdcad

We picked them around 5.00pm. We saw other kids parents at that time. I can see all the children: Wan Xin, Xi Xuan, Xi Wen, Avelia, Erlene including Issac and Annabelle were having fun at the party.

We too received some nice pastries for us to bring home, which is homemade by Lily – Wan Xin’s mummy. She is so thoughtful! Issac and Annabelle are happy for meeting with their friends in this Sabbath!
